About Nurture Abato Initiative

Nurture Abato Initiative (NAI) is a grassroots, community-led nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Uganda. Founded in 2015, NAI’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and ensure that every child, regardless of their background or financial status, has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

Our Impact

    • Number of beneficiaries: We have supported over 5,000 vulnerable children, women, and families in Uganda since our inception.
    • Program outcomes: Our programs have resulted in improved educational outcomes, increased economic empowerment, and better health outcomes for vulnerable populations in Uganda.
    • Community engagement: We have established a strong network of community-based organizations and local partners who support our programs and services.

Our Focus Area

NAI operates in five districts of Uganda, including Kampala, Wakiso, Isingiro, Butambala, and Gomba. Our programs are designed to support:

 

Our Mission

To create a world where livelihood, wellbeing, and quality education are achievable for every child, regardless of their financial status or background. We envision a future where all children in Uganda have access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute positively to their communities.

Our Approach

We take a holistic approach to supporting vulnerable children, focusing on four key areas:
Education

Providing scholastic materials, updating libraries, and improving school infrastructure to create a conducive learning environment.

Health

Improving access to quality healthcare services for vulnerable children and their families.

Vocational Training

Equipping youth with skills and knowledge in areas like electricity, plumbing, tailoring, and welding to enable them to earn a decent living.

Economic Empowerment

Providing economic support and training to families to help them break the cycle of poverty.

Our Partners

– Local partners: We work with local community-based organizations, schools, and healthcare providers to deliver our programs and services.

– International partners: We partner with international organizations and donors to access funding, technical assistance, and expertise.

– Government partners: We work with government agencies and ministries to advocate for policy changes and legislation that benefit vulnerable populations.
